Our Surrogacy Journey🤍 Part Two We are forever grateful to Dr. Andy Huang (@drandyhuang @reproductivepartners) who helped us freeze embryos, Andy Vorzimer who explained the whole process very patiently, and Stephanie Levich @familymatchconsulting who helped us match with our incredible surrogate family. And to our surrogate and her husband and children, it is such a huge sacrifice for the whole family and the ultimate blessing you can give to another family. It has been a covid complicated journey but we are forever bonded and we are so grateful to have experienced this alongside them. I’m grateful we were on the same page about talking openly to her children about this and can’t wait for them to meet River to complete the experience for their family. He will always hear of the littles that nicknamed him “George” and helped keep him entertained. Our society doesn’t normalize surrogacy, adoption, or fostering. Being adopted myself I have always known the importance of celebrating without judgement every family’s unique journey (you grow tired as a kid of saying “yes I know I look different but that is my mom”) Our fav nurse Brianna said to us “The journey as a parent can be very lonely. I have seen people become parents through loss, surrogacy, adoption, and some of the most complicated and devastating circumstances. Through posting you can help people find comfort in not being alone, one family in finding a connection with other families who have gone thru the same experiences, help them find a way to escape the isolation. It doesn’t matter how you decide to become a parent, or if being a parent to a little human lasted a million days shorter then it should have, you are still a parent and it deserves massive celebration.” And last but not least thank you to friends who helped us raise close to 40k for @baby2baby in Rivers name.
