Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Welcome Son Wren via Surrogacy
Model, author, and television personality Chrissy Teigen and EGOT-winning artist John Legend welcomed their fourth child, a son named Wren Alexander Stephens, through surrogacy in June 2023. The arrival came just months after Teigen gave birth to their daughter, Esti, and was covered by The Hollywood Reporter as the couple shared how their family continued to grow.
A Path Forward After Loss
Like many intended parents, Teigen and Legend’s road to growing their family was shaped by both hope and heartbreak. After the devastating loss of their son Jack in 2020, Teigen has spoken openly about the emotional and medical realities that followed, including the difficult realization that carrying another pregnancy herself might not be possible.
The couple later began exploring surrogacy as another path to growing their family. During that time, Teigen also became pregnant through IVF. In 2023, they welcomed two children just months apart: Esti, whom Teigen carried, and Wren, who was born via surrogate.
Celebrating Modern Family Building
Stories like Teigen and Legend’s help more families see that there is no single path to parenthood. Surrogacy can be a powerful option after loss, medical complexity, or simply when growing a family calls for a different kind of partnership — one built on trust, care, and shared purpose.
At Family Match Consulting, we’re proud to have walked alongside Chrissy and John through their family building journey, and we congratulate them on their beautiful, growing family.
